Cape Croker Lighthouse

Cape Croker sits on the shores of Colpoy’s Bay on the eastern side of the Bruce Peninsula.  The current light was built in 1902 and was last manned by an on site keeper in 1986.

I built the Inukshuk seen in two of these photos when I visited in September of 2007.  At the time, it was the only one on the shore.  I don’t know what happened to it after I left but another photographer was at this location the following summer and he had a photo of over 100 Inukshuks that dotted the shore.  I have no idea whether mine was the inspiration for all those others – it would be amazing to think it survived the winter – but it’s pretty cool to think it might have been.
